The Infineon SICRYPT® CardModule Card is a smart card designed to integrate with Microsoft's Base Smart Card Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP). This integration allows various applications that utilize the crypto API to leverage the smart card's functionalities. The card can store up to seven key containers and supports elliptic curve cryptography with NIST curve parameters. It ensures secure PIN unblocking through a challenge-response mechanism based on 3DES keys.
The card comes with a User PIN Tool provided by Microsoft for tasks like changing the User PIN and generating challenges for PIN unblocking. Additionally, United Access offers administration software for managing Admin PINs, calculating responses for User PIN unblocking, changing PIN unblock keys, managing PIN unblock keys, importing PFX files (certifications), and deleting key containers.
The Infineon SICRYPT® CardModule Card finds applications in Windows PKI logon, Outlook S/MIME, Internet Explorer SSL authentication, Microsoft Certificate Lifecycle Manager, and any CryptoAPI-enabled application. It can also be used as a corporate card for building access, canteen payments, and time recording (in hybrid card scenarios).
